Real Estate and Social Media Marketing

Social Media Marketing for Real Estate with At Net Media

Social Media platforms hold enormous potential for Realtors to grow their business, sell more property as well as promote new listings. It’s an industry that suits social media extremely well. The various platforms include FacebookTwitterYouTube, Pinterest and LinkedIn, as well as real estate specific platforms such as Trulia and Zillow and each offers an enormous opportunity for those involved in real estate to generate new leads, build relationships with potential homebuyers, show off homes (via YouTube and great photos) and link directly to websites.

Understanding social media and how to use the different channels takes time and patience but the rewards can be wonderful. As a real estate professional, you already know that it’s important keeping up with the competition and making sure that your name (and brand) is out there for potential buyers and sellers to see. Using social media give agents an opportunity, through a combination of savvy engagement and information, to present up-to-the-minute information on property changes and sales.

But all of this comes with a caveat. Social media is just that, social.

Do you have the time to manage your accounts? There’s no such thing as dipping your toe in social media (we’ve seen enough abandoned Facebook Pages and Twitter accounts where the person started off with a bang and then slowly disappeared altogether). It means being on top of it, understanding who your audience is, answering questions in a timely manner, engaging with potential buyers, and understanding that it’s not just about posting your listings.

Have a hobby? Talk about it. Engage. Listen. Want to talk about the great events going on in you local library or a new restaurant that recently opened?  Go for it.

Ask yourself how much time you have to devote to leveraging social media in your marketing efforts. Start off with two platforms, max, you can always add more later. Figure out where you fit in and direct your efforts there.

If it all seems overwhelming, social media managers can help. At Net Media believes that a personal approach to social media is not only important, but a must to building a plan and future relationships.

Catch the cloud.
